DAY 6

CO-LABOURERS TOGETHER WITH GOD

?

Proclaim 1 COR. 3:1-23

Apostle Paul?s letters to the Church in Corinth are quite revealing. At several points He rebuked them sharply for their spiritual immaturity, their care-free and sinful lifestyle, their boastings etc. And then He goes on to teach them how to be co-labourers with God by his examples. God is looking for co-labourers, not Church goers.

1 COR. 3:1-9, 1 COR 1: 10-17, 13:11

We all at some point in our Christian lives have exhibited spiritual immaturity because no one is born as an adult. But just as we expect physical babies to grow up and are disturbed when they do not, we have the responsibility to grow up spiritually. God expects it and in fact, He demands it of us. Start this prayer by coming before God and asking to open your eyes to areas of your life where you are yet to mature.

1 COR. 3:1-5, ROM 13:13-14

The emblems of spiritual immaturity are strife, envying, backbiting, divisions, sectarianism, bickering, offences, etc. Ask the Lord to cleanse and deliver you from such. Plead with Him to make you a Kingdom minded Christian; a lover the brethren, a promoter of common Kingdom goals, not a pursuer of selfish interests.

Very often, many Christians pray for the unity of the Body of Christ with their words, but practice the exact opposite. Pray that the body of Christ in Nigeria will not only preach beautiful messages of unity and oneness but would live the life. Pray that this revival would begin from the altar to the pews.

1SAM 17:40,

Another thing we need to qualify as co-labourers with God is weapons. 1 COR. 3:12-13 says, ??If any man builds upon this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; his work shall be tried.?? When David faced Goliath in the valley of Elah, aside from praying and making declarations of faith, he got five smooth stones from the brook. And as soon he conquered Goliath he stripped him of his sword. Pray and ask the Lord to open your eyes and equip you with the right weapon for every battle that will come your way.

1SAM 17:1-50, COL 2:15

David is a perfect example of a co-labourer with God; he fought the Lords? battles (1SAM 25:28) and the Lord fought his battles. When the entire army of Israel ran away for fear of Goliath, David stepped forward and defended his nation and the name of His God. Ask the Lord to anoint you with courage and boldness to be able to win battles.

Pray strongly to the Lord to make you a loyal soldier; obeying the Lord and the leaders that He has placed ahead of you (PHIL 2:5-12).

1 SAM 30:1-8, 1COR 3:1-4

Pray that God would give you the grace to mange crisis well, as David did in Ziklag. We need the grace to seek the Lord in the time of crisis, rather than reacting to people or doing things that grieve the Spirit of God and close the channel of divine instructions against us. Ask for and receive that grace, in the name of Jesus!

1 COR 3:22, JHN 16:13

A co-labourer with God must be able to access and receive instructions and revelations from His Spirit. Pray that the Lord would lift you up to a higher ground where you can hear and see what the Spirit is saying and showing to you so that you would be able to pre-empt problems in the nation, your family and in your life before they surface.

MATT 26:40-41

Every co-labourer with God is called to watch and pray; you are to watch over your life, your family, the nation, etc. Pray that God would wake us up from sleep and spiritual slumber, so that we will not sleep the sleep of death. PS. 13:3

1 KGS 3:16-27, MATT 13:24-30

The enemy uses the spirit of slumber to carry out his 3 fold ministry against Believers ? he comes to steal, kill and destroy. It is in the time of deep sleep that living destinies, ministries, callings and blessings are crushed or exchanged for dead ones. Cry to God to awaken you from deep sleep and enable you to recover all that the enemy has killed or stolen from you.

Ask that God through the ministry of His Angels would wake us up as watchmen, to hear Him afresh. Pray that as the LORD wakes us up, He would enable us to re-examine and properly discern the situations in our lives, families, communities and nation so as to take appropriate steps of recovery.

ZECH 4:6-7, 1 KG.18:41-46

Pray also that as the LORD wakes us up, He would give us fresh burdens for intercessions, prayers, prophetic walk/journeys, to enable us labour with Him until His plans and purposes are fulfilled in our lives, nation and the Church.
