PREAMBLE:
O Lord GOD, You have only begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your mighty hand, for what god is there in heaven or on earth that can do anything like Your works and Your mighty deeds? DEUT. 3:24
Just like other attributes of God, His might is incomparable. There is no limit to what our God can do. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the End. Beside Him, there is no other god. Heaven and earth adore Him, Angels bow before Him, what a mighty God we serve!
He has finally enabled us to experience a most peaceful change of government contrary to the negative predictions of the international community that has come to only expect the worst from Nigeria. God has disappointed them all and proved that He can always have His way even in the midst of the whirlwind.
Let this cause us to constantly remind ourselves that we serve a faithful and mighty God. Let it also challenge us to always put Him first in our lives as well as strengthen our faith to continue to bear the ark of God on behalf of this great nation.
I counsel us to develop the heart and disposition of Prophet Samuel as it manifested also in a similar time of transition in the bible. For Him, it amounted to sin should he fail, for whatever reasons to pray for the nation and the people of Israel after they got the leader of their choice.
In addition to praying for them, he engaged in teaching and showing the people the right way; pointing out what the nation should do or not do. 1 SAM. 12:23. Let us not aim to do any less in this new dispensation that has come upon us. Let all watchmen quickly examine their hearts towards the nation and be encouraged to continue to guide the nation by prayer and hold her affectionately by the hand. This is our calling.
Please print out copies of this Prayer Guide for the month of June and circulate widely in the local assemblies and among all intercessory groups. Remember to give room to the leading by the Spirit of God which is what makes the Prayer watches exciting and rewarding.
I Pray that God will depend on you to make every Prayer Watch in the month of JUNE very exciting, whether at personal or corporate levels.
