Prayer:
Father, In the name of Jesus, we call upon you, the God of peace, to speak from your throne. The God of peace to speak peace upon us, speak peace into Nigeria, speak peace upon the church, speak peace around Africa, in the name of Jesus. As we share your word this evening, father, we ask that the nation of Nigeria… we command the ears of Nigeria to open, we command the ears of the church to open, we command the ears of the intercessors, the ears of their hearts to open, as you share your word. Thank you. For we pray with thanksgiving in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Brethren, this morning, I received a word from the Lord and I would like to share it.
Now, this word of the Lord came after praying, and it is to deal with the effects of what the enemy did recently with the two major political parties in Nigeria. This is about the first time, perhaps, in the history of Intercessors for Nigeria, that, I’m receiving a word to deal with that kind of matter.
- This Word is to strengthen the Church.
- This word is to guide the Church in going forward.
- This Word is to teach the Church a simple prayer and a simple prophetic action going forward.
And I title it,
THE PEACE OF THE LORD:
(Understanding it, Receiving it and Ministering it. x2)
Luke 10:5-7 (New Living Translation)
“Whenever you enter someone’s home, first say, may God’s peace be on this house. If those who live there are peaceful, the blessing will stand. If they are not, the blessing will return to you.”
You notice that from what Jesus told the seventy here, they would be the carriers, the containers, the
messengers of peace and the peace that they carry, whenever they come to a house, they would pronounce, “May the peace of God, be upon this house.” And if the people there receive the gospel, if there is a son of peace there, the peace is transferred, it’ll be retained in that building, in that infrastructure.
And secondly, it’ll come upon the people who live in that house.
Notice, peace is transferred to the building, to the infrastructure and then upon the people. But if it is not received, the peace is transferred back to the carriers, the agents of the peace.
So, it is important that, when you proclaim peace upon infrastructure, upon people, upon families, the peace is transferred. If they receive it, it is retained. If it is not, then the peace comes back to you.
This is a powerful new concept for many people.
But please, yes! We have been preaching the gospel for 20 years, 30 years, some for 40 years, some for even nearly 50 years, but try and understand today, that, because of the power of the Holy Spirit, we are now being reminded that we are agents of peace. So, we should not be afraid. We should not be frustrated at the events that are going on in the nation.
As we go on now, we will also find out that Jesus used the same words. Let us look at ,
John 14:27
“Peace, I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
No matter what happens in the primaries, no matter what happens in the politics, no matter what happens in the nation, this verse was there before they happened, this verse is here now that they have happened, this verse will continue to be there, whatever is the case. Peace, I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, do I give to you, let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
So, we have a responsibility to respond individually, corporately, to the word that the Lord has given to us, this first word, peace I leave with you. If I were you, I would immediately receive the peace into my spirit, into my heart, into my mind, into my family, into my home, into everything that I do or represent.
Jesus used the same words, the same methods immediately after his resurrection, before the holy spirit was poured out.
John 16:33
“These things I have spoken to you, that in me, you may have peace, in the world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
The one in whom we believe, the one who is the King of king says, and it is true. Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
If I were you, I would immediately blot out all of the frustration, whatever it is, that may have happened to you, as you listen to the news, as you have read your phones and read all of the various postings on the internet, the good, the bad and the ugly, you would remove all of these tribulations from your heart and be of good cheer, because Jesus has overcome the world.
John 20:19
This one, Jesus has risen and before the holy spirit came upon the church, the church was in a dilemma. If you read the story of Jesus’s journey with the two disciples who were going to a house, you would discover that, when He asked them, “what was your problem?” They said, though, we had hoped that, you know, Jesus would restore the kingdom to us, after he had been with them, taught them every day, for three years, they were still hoping that He would restore the kingdom.
John 20:19
“Then, the same day at evening, being first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, ‘Peace be with you,’ ‘Peace be with you’.”
He didn’t lay hands on them, He didn’t, blow anything, He just said, “peace be with you.” That was to protect them, that was to strengthen them and that was to prepare them to go out for the future.
Now, notice, that this word “peace be with you” was the answer that heaven brought in an uncertain time, an uncertain situation, just like we feel in Nigeria.
John 20:20-21
“When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
21. So, Jesus said to them, again, “Peace to you” as the Father has sent Me, so I also send you.
Notice, that Jesus said this word “Peace be unto you” the second time before he left.
Now, let us look at verse 25 of the same chapter.
25. The other disciples therefore said to him, we have seen the Lord. So, he said unto them, unless I see in His hands, the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.
26. And after eight days, His disciples were again inside and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “peace to you.” Each time, Jesus said peace to you.
So, we see there that when the people thought they had lost everything, the restoration of the kingdom to the Jews had gone. Every hope was lost. Jesus, they were just seeing, they had just seen, and he had risen from the dead, but what was it now. What was it that they were going do now? They were afraid and disillusioned. So, Jesus had to proclaim the peace of God upon the people.
Now, we need to take the medicine of peace ourselves.
When this word came to me, I put my hand on my head and received the peace of God.
I put my hands on the wall of my study, to minister peace, to the whole of my house, to proclaim peace, to the infrastructure of the whole house. I walked round with my wife and our son. We walked round the house, to proclaim peace. We spoke into the heavens. We spoke up on the earth. We touched the wall for prophetic action to proclaim peace, because of the way the power of God came upon us, as I was sharing it to them.
So, I’m just sharing with you, giving you, if you like, advice on what to do. You need to proclaim peace upon the whole country.
We faced the four cardinal points, the north, the south, the east, the west, we proclaim peace. Because we are intercessors, we, according to Isaiah 62, which we read, we are the people whom God has put upon the walls of Nigeria to make sure that we call upon the Lord, day and night without giving Him rest. Remember, that for fear of the Jews, the people had locked themselves inside the building where they were waiting, and Jesus came and said peace to them.
So, notice that fear is one of the biggest problems that the Christians have. In fact, in the Bible, there are 366 Fear not, do not Fear, be not afraid, anything to do with fear. If you calculate in the scriptures, the word around fear, fear not, be not afraid, and so on. You will get 366 words, 365 days in the year plus the leap year.
So, when Jesus said, receive the peace of the Lord, “peace be unto you” we need to proclaim peace, if you like, 365 days in the year, to make sure that there is no room for the enemy to plant any fear in us, because the way things are going, and I’m sure now with this word, they’re beginning to change.
People were going to go to pieces, some people had cried because of the sense of desperation, sense of disillusionment, sense of fear, sense of loss, sense of hopelessness. And so on.
Remember that, when Jesus was here with his disciples, one day, they were in the boat, crossing the sea of Galilee, and then Jesus fell asleep and suddenly there was a great storm, a very powerful storm and most of his disciples were fishermen, who had been fishing on that lake, virtually all their lives. They were afraid, so afraid that they woke Jesus up and say, “Master don’t you care that we’re dying.” Jesus didn’t buy their fears, He said, “but where is your faith?” And then he got up and rebuke the storm and said, “peace be still”.
And, “Peace be still,” Peace upon the sea, Peace upon the people, the disciples recovered their faith, the peace upon the water kept the water quiet, caused the storm to cease. So, this peace that Jesus is giving to us today, reminding us, we need to carry in our spiritual bottles. This is just for the sake of illustration, a pill of peace every day.
In closing, do not allow Satan’s policeman, whose name is called “fear” to catch you, because if he does, and traps you, that’s it! You will need deliverance.
So, Brethren, this is the word of the Lord, make sure that you take your own peace, peace be with you, may the peace, the God’s peace be upon this house. Make sure that you put peace upon your garment, upon your spirit, your soul, every part of you, peace.
And as I end, I proclaim in the name of Jesus, peace to Nigeria, peace! Peace to the north, peace to the east, peace to the west, peace to the south from the Lord Jesus Christ, may the peace of God, fall upon Nigeria, fall upon the houses of believers fall upon their places of business. May the peace of God descend heavily upon all that they do.
Wherever they go, the roads, the highways, the river, the ocean, the ocean of seafront, may the peace of God rest even in the coast of Nigeria… everywhere, in offices, the markets, the police stations, may the peace of God, may the peace of God rest up on the barracks of the arm forces; the air force, navy, army, may the peace of God, rest upon Nigeria, may the peace of God, as Jesus proclaimed peace on that day, when the sea of Galilee was boiling and making noise and seeking to drown them, and he said, “Peace be still”, Let Peace be still upon this country, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen – Amen.
Mummy Bade:
Let me just add one or two things… One of the thing Jesus said is, if the son of peace is in that house, the peace will stay there, if not, it’ll come back. From today, there will be a demarcation between those who serve God, and those who do not, because this peace will rest on the people of God and the fear that has been poured upon everybody, will be taken out, and take hold on them.
Peace will come upon the people of God, but those who are not sons of peace, who are wicked, who are evil, who like war, the peace will bypass them and bounce back and not take hold of them, they will be the ones to have turmoil, from today, in the name of Jesus.
The second thing I want to say is that, every storm in your life, prophesy peace, whether it’s even sickness in your body that is causing storm in your life, let the peace of God take hold of your body and take away that sickness in the name of Jesus. Thank you, father. Amen.
